Somehow I missed this article that was posted in the ProJo about volunteerism in Rhode Island.
Fewer than 196,000 Rhode Islanders volunteered last year, down from 206,521 volunteers in 2008.
But nationwide, the number of volunteers is rising.
In Rhode Island, a quarter of the state’s adults volunteered, with a total of 24.2 million in service hours valued at more than $504 million.
One in four adults in Rhode Island volunteer, that is actually quite shocking to me. How do we get the word out about how much volunteers mean to this state?
