April 2013:

Advice for new members:

Be prepared to work long hours.

Be prepared to be very busy the whole time.

Try to record good descriptions of your work and accomplishments and be sure to add them to your resume- this is valuable, real life, on the job experience, for certain. It’s just as valuable as any conventional job experience would be.

Go to the resume workshop-it gave us some great ideas on how to do the above.

Eat healthy, get enough sleep, and take care of yourself.  Unfortunately, schools (and other places where a lot of people gather) are germ magnets! Get a flu shot. See the doctor if needed. See the dentist. We are lucky to have health insurance, so use it if needed.

Make time for recreation and fun.

Enjoy your work, remember, you’re helping to make the world a better place!

Till next time, take care, hope everyone out there is doing fine.

WELCOME, SPRING!
