ISPN update

Hi all,

Things have been busy over here at the Institute. The school teams have been in full swing with the Bailey Elementary team and Carnivale Elementary team getting to do nonviolence trainings in lots of classroom. At Central Falls high school we have been able to do nonviolence trainings with student leaders in the school as well as branch out into the community. We are teaching a bilingual nonviolence course for parents in Central Falls one night a week as part of the “Parent University” initiative. Through this program parents can actually receive college credit for the courses they take, which is awesome! We are also branching out into Ella Risk Elementary school and Calcutt Middle school to do nonviolence trainings with students.

The building team is in full swing with the second cycle of the jobs program just finishing up and GED classes are going strong. The training team is also keeping busy right now with lots of trainings in the community. They are also about to start a nonviolence course in the Women’s prison and Men’s prison and have been invited back to do another course at the Rhode Island Training school.

Overall, things are going really well over here at the Institute. 🙂
